We were excited to report an early Christmas present for one client in recent weeks! Planning was recently approved for the remodelling of this existing bungalow in Croyden, Surrey. The proposals included to remove the existing roof and create an additional storey using pre-fabricated timber frame construction. The new first floor gave an opportunity to relocate all bedrooms from the ground floor, allowing for a number of large open plan areas creating quality primary living space. Ground floor extensions to the front and back allowed the applicant to respond to the site's orientation and capture direct sunlight throughout the day. We look forward to the next phase of the project.
The proposals increase the internal floor area from 166m² (1,786m²) to a whopping 357m²(3,842m²)! Planning was granted with no negotiations necessary, due to good justification how the design responded to planning constraints that were identified earlier in the design process.
