We are delight to report that this remodel of a large existing Art Deco property was allowed by the Planning Inspectorate in Worthing. The appeal officer quoted:
"the corner plot lends the appeal site scope to be different and more flamboyant as does its position on the seafront amongst other spacious detached properties. The proposed external stairway would be a welcome nod to art deco exuberance. Whilst it is proper to seek to promote or reinforce local distinctiveness, in this case the diversity of house designs (which include houses with flat roof elements) and the fact that distinctiveness is often gleaned from interesting individual villas along or near seafronts leads me to conclude that this particularly innovative scheme should not be stifled."
Planning consultants Pure Town Planning were appointed to complete the appeal process and successfully presented justification of the scheme to which the appeal officer agreed.
