We are pleased to report that this coastal remodel in Harwich was successful at appeal following a refusal by the Local Planning Authority. Negotiations took place during the planning application process, but an agreement could not be made and subsequently the application was refused, on the basis of harmful effect on neighbours amenity. We advised the client to test the decision at appeal and following presentation of our design approach, the appeal officer agreed and planning permission has now been granted. This is a good example of yet another Local Authority imposing a cautious approach, stifling innovation and trying to dictate architectural style.
